Brief introduction about Wi-Fi:
1. Wi-Fi is a popular wireless networking technology.
2. Wi-Fi stands for Wireless Fidelity which is the general term that refers to the IEEE802.11 standard for Wireless Local Network or WLAN.
3. Wi-Fi was invented in 1991 by NCR Corporation/AT&T in the Netherlands.
4. By using this technology we can exchange information between two or more devices. Wi-Fi was developed for mobile computing devices such as laptops, but is now being used extensively for mobile applications and consumer electronics such as televisions, DVD players and digital cameras.
5. Data is transferred over radio frequencies, allowing Wi-Fi enabled devices to receive and transmit data when they are in range of a Wi-Fi network.

Access Point (AP) - An AP is a wireless LAN transceiver or "base station" that can connect one or several wireless devices to the Internet at once.
Wi-Fi cards - They accept wireless signals and relay information. They can be internal and external.
Security measures - Firewall and anti-virus software protect the network from uninvited users and keep information secure.

Disadvantage of Wi-Fi:
• Wi-Fi generates radiation that can harm human health.
• We need to disconnect the Wi-Fi connection whenever we are not using the server.
• Data transfer has some limitations, we cannot transfer data over long distances.
• Wi-Fi implementation is very expensive as compared to wired connections.
